This personal project is to place a library in the westside community of San Antonio. A student who is wanting to learn more and gain architecture skills. This library is planned to serve the community with computer access, library access, children programs, library events, a community garden, and history of the Historic Old Highway 90 along with honoring the Air Force Base in this area. The library is planned to be located at the corner of Acme Road and Enrique Barrera Parkway. There are about seven schools wrapped around the library including an Alamo Colleges Training Center about three blocks away. This library will serve the surrounding schools and keep our students educated, healthy, and give them the desire to learn, read, and look for future careers - not too early to think of careers - as well with participating in library programs and tutoring programs, The westside is craving for education and somewhere to relax and cherish; the community is ongoing fighting for the Historic Old Highway 90 name and what better way to educate them with murals and a gallery inside the library. The amenities this library will contain are the following: Community Garden on the side, Desert Garden in the front, reading and cafe lovers area on the side facing north, computer area, children's reading area, planned four reading rooms (qty. 4 each), teens reading area, bathrooms and one family restroom, service desk, offices, security desk, gallery, auditorium, parking lot (qty. ~100), and solar panels and rainwater collection system.
