Inturotel Cala Esmeralda is in the beautiful Cala
D’Or beach, Mallorca. Among the pine tree forest
and the turquoise water lies a place where people
can lose and find themselves. Our task was to
completely rebuild the interior and exterior
common areas.
We started our work by going back to the buildings
origins and restoring it. Built on the 70s, it has a
classic architecture of the time with a wavy front,
which is characteristic of the style. To give each
room its own personality, we came up with a
distinct picking of furniture as well as wall coating
that built up the fresh and cozy atmosphere that we
were looking for.
For the saloon, the bar and the cafeteria, we went
for a more natural furniture that gave out a
handicraft air and brings back the traditional and
typical nautical roots of the island. Even the
cushions were thought to return to the island
origins with the typical “tejido de lenguas”,
characteristic from Mallorca. The cherry on top was
the chill-out space on the deck where the pool goes
side by side with an ample relaxing zone.
